Start with a short musical idea you can judge by ear. Suno chooses the performance and arrangement itself, so you will need to check the exact vocal timbre, stress, and every note in the result.

Suno works for a song using your own lyrics, a vocal sketch, and editing words. You will need to check separately whether you can download a file for free and the pronunciation quality.

Who it is for. You have lyrics or a melody, but no recording with instruments. You are willing to listen to several performances and choose the one closest to your idea.

Who it is not for. You need a finished track with precise notes, your own unchanged voice, and no manual checking. For this, a good first take is not enough.

First listen to examples, then make a short sketch. If you are preparing a song for release, check the download quota and terms of use before paying.

In the video above, you can hear how the song starts and what the model adds. This is a Suno demonstration with editing, so it cannot be used to measure generation speed or promise the same result with every recording.

Word edit. The host of the official review changes love to light and plays both clips. This is a clear example of a targeted edit; you should still check whether the rest of your song is preserved.

Version comparison. Christopher Wieduwilt used his own English lyrics and one clone of his voice. Below are short clips of his indie rock with identical settings. Listen to the voice placement in the mix and the character of the arrangement; these are four separate takes, not a universal ranking.

Open the official Suno website and sign in to your account. mini is suitable for a first try. If you need a specific song or recording as a base, add it in Simple Mode together with a description of the desired result.

Prompt example. “Make a calm acoustic song from my recording. Keep the main melody, add guitar and soft drums. Make the arrangement fuller in the chorus.” This is a prompt template, not our measurement of the result.

From Russia. Opening the public website does not prove that generation and payment are available. We have no confirmed test with a Russian IP and card; Suno's terms prohibit bypassing its geographic restrictions. Before paying, check access in your account. Review payment methods for foreign AI services.

v6 replaced the previous models within Suno. It is now more important to choose a version of the new family and evaluate your own recordings. Old songs remain in the library, but continuations are made by a different model.

Alternative. Udio also creates music, but its official help as of the date checked says downloads of audio, video, and separate tracks are disabled. This is a significant difference when you need a file as the output.

In Suno, generations and downloaded songs are counted separately. Pro gives many attempts, but only 20 downloads per month. Compare the plan with the number of files you need for work, not just credits.

Credit usage. A standard pair of songs costs 10 credits. Max Mode and some tasks with multiple images or videos cost more; exact multipliers are not given in the FAQ. The number of attempts does not equal the number of songs you will want to keep.

Downloads. A repeat file of the same song, another format, and its separate tracks count as one download. Included monthly quota does not roll over. Studio workflows are excluded from these limits; Studio is available in Premier.

Free file. Two Suno help pages conflict: one says up to seven trial downloads; another separately stipulates new accounts. So check whether you can get an MP3 for free in your own account before working on a long song.

Before release, listen to the whole track, not just a successful chorus. Check pronunciation, transitions, unwanted sounds, and similarity to your voice. A couple of successful demonstrations do not guarantee a clean result in another genre.

Separate tracks. In the Wieduwilt test, wild drums were more suitable for further work than heavily processed guitar. Below you can hear two isolated instruments from his R&B track. This is an assessment of a specific recording, not a promise of quality for all v6 tracks.

Release rights. The current terms tie commercial use to an eligible download under a paid subscription. Free results and certain collaborative remixes are restricted. You must separately hold rights to the underlying lyrics, music, and voice.

Data. Suno receives a broad license to uploaded content and lists model training among its processing purposes. A paid plan alone does not promise a no-training option. Do not upload private recordings unless you have consent for this use.

Training and copyright. Suno announced partnerships with Warner Music Group, BMG, and Believe. The reviewed materials do not include a complete list of training data. A subscription also does not guarantee copyright in a generated song.

Your choice within the family depends on how clearly you can hear the future song. For a free trial there is mini; for a specific direction, Suno offers v6; wild is for exploring less predictable options.

How to compare for your task. Keep lyrics, recording, genre, and settings identical. Evaluate several takes from each model. If your own voice matters, choose by timbre similarity, not just arrangement polish.

When you need Max Mode. Suno recommends it for preserving voice and style in longer songs and covers. The mode uses more credits. The two minutes in this recommendation are not a hard limit on ordinary generation.
