Inspection robot passes closed doors on its own: ANYmal tested at a power plant
On Sep 24, ANYbotics announced a pilot in which ANYmal passed through controlled doors for several weeks without manual intervention. The robot receives a LEGIC digital credential and requests access under the same rules that apply to employees.
If a door was closed during an inspection, the robot could remain in front of it or locked inside. After the pilot at Whitegate, monitoring became daily instead of a single annual contractor inspection.
The setup is no longer manual. ANYmal carries a secure LEGIC digital credential, and dormakaba applies predefined access rules to it. For unlocked doors, dormakaba surveys the site, specifies the equipment, and installs the retrofit. The partners are preparing commercial availability.
