Meta glasses will guide users through recipes by voice: NYT Cooking is preparing a hands-free mode
On Sep 24, NYT Cooking unveiled a hands-free mode for Meta glasses: it reads out short recipe steps with ingredients and quantities. On Ray-Ban Display, the same steps will remain on the display as swipeable cards. The glasses will need to be paired with the NYT Cooking app.
Steps did not stay on the display long enough to cook from them at the stove.
**Now the recipe will be broken into prompts.** NYT Cooking will turn a long instruction into short audio phrases, so users do not have to pick up their phone with dirty hands.
The hands-free mode is expected to launch later this fall.
