Payments for Oracle's AI campus hinge on the construction schedule: 2028 is the target
On Sep 24, Oracle sent Project Jupiter developer a force majeure notice: if the 2028 target is missed, it will allow payments to be deferred. Oracle is maintaining the campus schedule in New Mexico. Blue Owl Capital believes the notice does not change the financial commitments of the long-term project.
Energy Transfer had previously planned to bring gas to the site sooner. The pipeline is now expected on Feb 1, 2027, almost six months later following permit denials and a route change in August 2026.
The Project Jupiter campus is designed for 2.45 GW and is set to run on Bloom Energy gas fuel cells. As of Sep 24, the public hearing for the YGI Microgrid construction permit has been paused under an order from the New Mexico Supreme Court.
The project agreement requires the creation of at least 750 permanent jobs by Dec 31, 2031.
