Solar Mini 4 is now half the price on OpenRouter: $0.05 per million input tokens
On Sep 28, Solar Mini 4 on OpenRouter received a 50% discount: one million input tokens cost $0.05 and output tokens cost $0.20. The service also added Solar Decide.

Previously, OpenRouter did not offer Solar Mini 4 or Solar Decide. Solar Mini 4 can now be called through a chat completions-compatible API, and the discount also lowers the price of cache-read tokens to $0.005 per million.
For agents. Solar Mini 4 supports function calling through `tools` and `tool_choice`, while JSON Schema in `response_format` sets structured outputs. Its 524,288-token context window can fit a large project or a long conversation.
Connection. Calls use POST requests to `https://openrouter.ai/api/v1/chat/completions` with the `Authorization: Bearer <OPENROUTER_API_KEY>` header. In the Upstage API, reasoning is disabled by default, while `reasoning_effort` from `low` to `max` enables it.
The discount on both models is available for a limited time.
