Praxis-1 controls a robot in a new setting: Runway demonstrates skill transfer to a kitchen
Runway moved the same robot control program from a studio to a home kitchen without retraining.

Praxis-1 controls real robots using video-based training. Runway demonstrated skill transfer between spaces on Sep 30.
From video to action. Runway used large-scale video training for its world models. The company is now applying the same approach to robot control in Praxis-1. It is Runway's first world action model, a model for choosing a robot's actions.
In Runway's experiment, training on internet videos produced nearly the same placement error as training on recordings of human-controlled robots. After fine-tuning, the errors were 16.1 and 16.0 cm, respectively. Runway compared results across 93 pairs in its Sep 30 study.
Three partners are testing Praxis-1 on their own hardware. Noble Machines is working on two-handed manipulation, Standard Bots uses the RO1 robotic arm, and Ultra is testing the model on a mobile platform.
Access for your own robot. Ahead of the public release, Runway is accepting applications through its Robotics team and granting access to selected partners. The form requires a name, email, organization, subject and message.
Runway plans to release Praxis-1 with open weights in the coming months.
