Alexa Plus breaks into song: user reports 10 minutes of "lalala"
Amazon is fixing a bug that makes Alexa Plus on Echo speakers repeat and sing "la" for minutes at a time.

On Oct 6, user Caseymc3179 reported 10 minutes of "lalala". According to the transcript, Alexa began repeating itself 2 minutes after a conversation about skincare.
Another user, -Hal-Jordan-, encountered repeated and sung "la" on Echo Dots while discussing a plot of land in Second Life. Alexa then denied saying it, even though the recording remained in the activity log. Amazon confirmed to Android Authority that the bug affected a small number of Alexa+ users.
Switching back to regular Alexa. After upgrading to Alexa+, users can restore the previous assistant with the command "Alexa, exit Alexa Plus". The command appears in Amazon's upgrade message, which Android Authority quoted on Jan 12.
Availability and pricing. Alexa+ works on Echo speakers, in the Alexa app and on Alexa.com. Under Amazon's terms dated Feb 4, Prime members in the US can enable it with the command "Alexa, upgrade to Alexa+" or through their account on Alexa.com. Unlimited access for the entire household is included with Prime at no extra cost.
Without Prime, full Alexa+ access costs $19.99 per month. Free text chat is available on Alexa.com and in the Alexa app, subject to usage limits.
On Oct 5, Amazon said it was rolling out a fix for the repeated "la".
