If you live in the terminal, this is for you. See how to dictate tasks in Codex CLI, manage agents across projects, and try a different approach in a separate worktree.

In Codex CLI, you can dictate a task to an AI agent, then monitor agents working across different projects from the terminal.
Tasks by voice. In version 0.155.0, voice mode was enabled through `/experimental`. In 0.156.0, just press F8; settings are available through `/voice settings`. On Linux and Windows, the required audio components are included.
On macOS and Linux, installation and updates use a single command: `curl -fsSL https://chatgpt.com/codex/install.sh | sh`. After installation, run `codex` in your project folder and select Sign in with ChatGPT.
Agents across projects. The `codex agents` command opens a unified overview of local agent sessions. You can filter tasks by status and create sessions in a worktree, a separate Git working directory for an alternative version of the code.
Two commands let you try an alternative approach. `/fork` copies the current chat and gives it a new ID. `/worktree` starts a chat in a new Git worktree, where the agent works with a separate copy of the project files.
In version 0.156.0, Codex CLI also restores Plan mode when resuming a session.
