Grok Bot will pick models for each task: Claude, Midjourney and Suno replace a fixed lineup
SpaceX promises to connect the bot to different models and services depending on the task, rather than limiting it to its own model.

Wow... Grok Bot will now choose Claude Opus 5.5, Midjourney, Suno and other services depending on the task. The best model wins.
Important note regarding Grok @Bot: Going forward, @SpaceX will use the best back end model for any given task, including Claude Opus 5.5, MidJourney, Suno and other leading APIs. Whatever is most likely to give you the best outcome.

On Oct 7, SpaceX announced that Grok Bot would use third-party models and APIs, including Claude Opus 5.5, Midjourney, and Suno.
The user assigns work to a single AI agent, and the system selects the model to perform it. The settings from Sep 28 already lacked a manual model switcher: Cursor controlled the selection. SpaceX now promises to choose third-party services to suit the task as well.
How to launch the bot. Grok Bot installs on macOS, Windows, and Linux. According to SpaceXAI's Sep 21 instructions, after installation you need to sign in through Cursor, select Create your own, and give the bot a name, task, and description. Running it requires cloud data storage, so account holders with Legacy Privacy Mode need to change their Cursor privacy setting.
You can assign the bot scheduled prototyping work. Matt Palmer set up Tech Demos: on weekdays, the bot reviews X bookmarks and prepares a prototype prompt. After approval, it launches Cursor Cloud Agent and returns a PR with screenshots or video. Palmer described this process in his Grok Bot 101 guide on Sep 11.
Palmer also used the bot to manage contacts. In the same guide, he described creating a personal CRM in Notion from the 800–900 accounts he follows on X in 10–15 minutes on his phone. The bot used public profiles.
What access costs. No separate Grok Bot subscription is required: access is included in two plans. Prices on the official Grok Bot page as of Oct 7:
| Subscription | Price | What's included | | --- | --- | --- | | Cursor Pro | $20 per month | Access to Grok Bot | | SuperGrok | $30 per month | Access to Grok Bot |
Subscriptions do not combine quotas: connecting a second one does not add usage. According to Cursor's Oct 7 documentation, the free trial is limited by a usage credit and a 7-day period. The credit is spent on agent steps and tokens, rather than the number of messages.
Included usage resets weekly. Once the quota is exhausted, the bot can continue working through On-demand, billed through Cursor within a monthly spending limit.

SpaceX intends to select a model based on the task's expected outcome, including models from other companies.
