Apple Home AI camera summaries require iCloud+: $59.99 a month for five cameras
The plan that unlocks AI summaries for five cameras costs $59.99 a month, more than $700 a year. The minimum plan for summaries, 2 TB for $9.99 a month, covers one camera.

Open the Home app, tap the three-dot icon on the Home tab, go to Home Settings, turn on Apple Intelligence and choose the cameras for video descriptions. You need iOS 27, an iPhone 15 Pro or newer, a home hub (HomePod 2nd generation, HomePod mini or Apple TV 4K) and HomeKit Secure Video cameras. Each camera is enabled separately, and summaries are off by default.
What it costs. Summaries require an iCloud+ plan of at least 2 TB for $9.99 a month. For two cameras you need 6 TB for $29.99, and for five, as Apple puts it, “up to 5,” you need 12 TB for $59.99. Regular HomeKit Secure Video recording doesn't depend on the plan, but the 2 TB plan doesn't count camera recordings against the storage quota.
Glenn Fleishman of Six Colors thinks paying $30–60 a month for two to five cameras is worth it only if you really need the storage.
Apple has tied video summaries to the 2027 software releases.
