HomeView: Apple's smart home display that won't run third-party software
Apple unveils HomeView on Oct 13, 2026: the company's first smart display for the home. The small bright screen sits on a speaker base and is built for video calls, photos and quick summaries.

Rumors about an Apple home display have circulated for years. This week it was shown in person in New York.
Controls. Siri voice is the main way to use it, and the screen is touch-enabled. Apps come from a limited set chosen by Apple, and there is no App Store. So third-party software can't be installed on it: it is a display for calls, photos and summaries.
The tabletop version sits on a metal speaker base, and the wall-mounted one on a flat square base. The tabletop version comes in space gray, silver, starlight and rose pink; the wall-mounted one in space gray and silver. Inside is the A18 chip, the same one as in the iPhone 16e, iPhone 16 and iPhone 16 Plus.
What's still missing. There is no final price yet: Mark Gurman (Bloomberg) has not named one. According to Gurman's reporting, preorders could open on Oct 13, but Apple has not confirmed this yet.
Shipments will start around mid-November 2026.
