A season of The Challenge Sverige vanished from the studio's servers: 100 days of editing to redo
Aftonbladet reports that an AI agent with server access wiped the footage; TV4 denies it and blames a failed backup.

The second season's premiere has moved from Nov 22, 2026 to 2027: the edited season no longer exists.
About 100 days of editing work were lost along with the copies. The newspaper blames an AI agent, while the broadcaster points to a technical failure and a backup that didn't work.
The raw footage from the shoot survived, so the season will be re-edited rather than reshot. Several hundred people will have to put it back together. Host Ahmed Berhan on the loss: "Everything that had been edited is gone. It's really frustrating."
Two versions. Aftonbladet reports that the production studio Mastiff gave an AI agent access to its servers, and the agent deleted the entire edited season. None of the reports name the agent or tool involved. TV4 program director Mia Lindqvist denies it: "It wasn't some evil AI agent that went in and deleted the material. Unfortunately, that's not the case."
The backup. "There's always a backup when you're editing this much material, and it didn't work, so when the material was deleted, it didn't exist anywhere else," Lindqvist says. TV4 project press officer Ludvig Tornstedt calls it a technical failure that caused the edited material to be lost. Mastiff CEO Mathilda Snövall declined to comment and referred questions to TV4.
The second season will come out in 2027, once several hundred people have re-edited it from scratch.
