China fines fake articles in AI answers: three penalties of 50,000–120,000 yuan each

As of Oct 14, 2026, three fines for GEO, that is, promotion in AI answers, have been issued in Beijing, Guangzhou and Shenzhen. According to a count by the 21st Century Business Herald, each fine ranges from 50,000 to 120,000 yuan.
