Google AI Mode searches vintage items by criteria: jerseys and brunch nearby
On September 14, 2026, Google outlined five ways to find second-hand items through Search and Shopping. AI Mode accepts a query with multiple conditions: find vintage jerseys in San Francisco and suggest a nearby gluten-free brunch. Search shows options with key details and links.

Google is turning the search for a vintage item from a name query into a journey with location, photos, try-on, and resale.
One query. AI Mode launches through google.com/ai, the AI Mode tab after a regular Search query, or the AI Mode button in the Google app.
By photo. In Google Lens, open the Google app on Android or iOS, tap Lens, and take a photo of the item. The service finds visual matches, helps identify the designer or era, and compares online prices with the number of similar listings. On Android, you need the latest version of the Google app or Chrome, and you can take a photo with the camera or upload one from your device.
Circle to Search launches by long-pressing the Home button or navigation bar on Android. Circle an item, and the service will find similar products, prices, and places to buy them. The feature is available only on select Android models. If there are issues, Google recommends setting Google as the digital assistant, allowing Use screenshot, and updating the Google app.
Try-on. For Virtual Try-On, first take a photo of the item, find a similar one through Lens, tap Try it on, and upload a full-length photo of yourself. Google Try-On works for tops, bottoms, and dresses, but not for lingerie, bathing suits, and accessories. If there is no Try it on button, the item is not supported. As of June 3, 2026, Google said the feature was available in 19 countries, including the US and UK. It requires users to be at least 18, signed in, with Search Services History and Personalized Recommendations enabled.
Before selling. You can photograph your item in Lens and ask: “Could I resell this?” or “What kind of stores buy items like this?”. The first question assesses resale potential, while the second finds a suitable type of store.
What happens next depends on feature availability: Circle to Search works only on select Android models, while Try-On depends on the country and item category.
