Grok Bot AI team runs around the clock on its own machine: beta access from $20 a month

xAI sells Grok Bot as a team of AI employees that never go home. Cursor bills that team: the quota is tracked on the Cursor account and resets once a week.

Previously, an agent lived inside the editor and used the same limit as chat. Bots now have their own quota: according to xAI's promise from 11.08.2026, usage assigned to a bot does not count toward regular usage.

One computer for everyone. A virtual machine is assigned to the user rather than the bot, and all your bots share it: shared logins, shared files. On 20–21.08.2026, a frozen machine took down every bot on an account at once; Cursor employees confirmed this on the forum.

Install it through the desktop app for macOS, Windows, or Linux; there is also an iOS version. On the welcome screen, click Sign in, confirm the sign-in in your browser, and return to the app. Create your first bot with Cmd/Ctrl+N: name, one primary job, description.

A bot has no account of its own. At login, a two-factor authentication code, a CAPTCHA, and payment, it hands control to you, then takes the wheel back. Accounts on Legacy Privacy Mode must switch to cloud data storage or the bot will not start.

How much it costs. Access comes with seven Grok and Cursor plans, each with its own weekly quota. - Cursor Pro, $20 a month: the cheapest way in. - SuperGrok, $30 a month. - Cursor Ultra, $200 a month: the largest weekly quota.

A hundred simple requests plus one ten-minute script use about 5% of the week. When the quota runs out, bots stop: after that, they work only with Cursor pay-as-you-go enabled, and it counts against the shared monthly limit. Linking SuperGrok to a Cursor account is irreversible, and the quotas from the two subscriptions do not combine.

Enterprise access is still distributed through a waitlist; the beta is open to SuperGrok and Cursor subscribers.
