Fewer reasons to leave Runway: Workflows adds alpha, HDR and depth maps

Alpha and depth maps used to require a separate editor. Now they are nodes inside Runway.
The company expanded Workflows on 21.09.2026: five operations work alongside generation. That makes frame processing one less separate stop in a video's workflow.
The five additions. Compositing merges layers into one frame. Alpha keeps the background transparent, while HDR preserves a wide brightness range from shadows to highlights.
A depth map marks what is closer and farther in a frame. RGB Depth represents that same depth with color.
Before and now. Frames from Runway used to leave as files for third-party software, then return. Runway now promises more of the pipeline in one place.
How well the nodes handle real footage will become clear in the first videos assembled entirely in Workflows.
