AI chip demand lifts AMD into the $1 trillion club: $1 trillion
On September 21, 2026, AMD surpassed a $1 trillion market capitalization for the first time. At the time of publication, Reuters reported its shares were up 9.6%, to a record $613.31. AMD stock has gained 185% since the start of the year.

It previously included Nvidia, Broadcom, and Micron. AMD has now become the fourth US chipmaker with a market capitalization above $1 trillion. The Nasdaq has gained 15.8% since the start of 2026.
Orders for years ahead. Meta and OpenAI have agreed with AMD to deploy up to 6 GW of GPUs each. AMD is already producing Helios systems for AI companies at gigawatt scale.
AMD expected its first deliveries for 1 GW of Instinct MI450 GPUs in the second half of 2026.
