AI still accounts for a small share of oil and gas digital budgets: RUB 2.7 billion in 2025
In 2025, oil and gas companies invested 2,7 billion rubles in AI, against 151 billion rubles in total digitization spending. Computer vision was used by 77% of organizations, AI for text by 50%, and AI for sound by 47%.

AI accounted for 2,7 billion rubles of a 151 billion ruble digital budget, although 63% of organizations already use it for decision support and management.
The main blocker is cost. High costs were cited as a barrier by 40% of organizations, and a lack of data by 28%.
Over the next five years, T1 expects growth in predictive maintenance, computer vision for industrial safety, and AI for geological exploration.
