A fake confession can be created with a dead person's voice: a 13-second Robin Williams clip
A 13-second video featuring an AI imitation of Robin Williams was reposted thousands of times by 22 September 2026. It received more than 11,000 likes, although a Community Note debunked the story about a “private recording from 2013.”
On 21 September, Zelda Williams called the video an obvious AI fake and the voice robotic. In October 2025, she had already asked people not to send her such videos of her father.
A verified archive. In 2023, Zelda Williams said that imitations of her father's voice unsettled her personally. In August 2026, Zak, Zelda, and Cody Williams revived Robin Williams' official Instagram to gather verified materials and counter fakes of his voice and appearance.
