AI data became a billion-dollar business: Snorkel valued at $3,5 billion
On September 22, Snorkel AI raised $350 million at a $3.5 billion valuation. The company sells ready-made data for training and evaluating AI models.

Snorkel used to sell data-labeling software. Now the company supplies AI labs with ready-made datasets and RL environments, combining synthetic data, its own models, and expert work. Over nearly a year, Data-as-a-Service grew more than 18x and reached an annualized revenue run rate of $375 million.
For code. In coding RL, such environments must replicate senior engineer tasks lasting days or weeks and often go through several hundred quality checks. Snorkel says that hundreds of specialized AI agents speed up this validation by more than 50% and raise review accuracy by 15 percentage points compared with pairing a human with an off-the-shelf LLM.
Experts join the community in four steps: application, screening, payout setup, and projects. An approved specialist can start the same day, and top contributors earn $3 000+ per week.
The $350 million will go toward expanding Data-as-a-Service, which Snorkel launched in September 2025.
