Spotify lets messages change recommendations: Taste Profile launches in the US
On September 23, Spotify began rolling out Taste Profile to US Premium users aged 18 and over. Messages change Home feed recommendations.

Spotify allowed users to exclude individual tracks and playlists from Taste Profile. This setting has been available to Free and Premium users worldwide on the web, desktop app, iOS, and Android since October 1, 2025.
Now users can use words. Taste Profile works only in the mobile app. The path: profile photo, Taste Profile, then Tell us more. The user writes what to change, and Spotify typically updates the Home feed within a few hours.
A note can request a new genre or era, a different mood, or more podcasts or audiobooks on a topic. Notes can be edited and deleted. Taste Profile does not follow creators on the user’s behalf and does not accept commands such as “always show.”
The AI taste summary is built from music, podcasts, and audiobooks. It works in English and Spanish; when the device uses another language, Spotify displays it in English.
After a beta in New Zealand that began on March 13, 2026, Spotify expanded Taste Profile to the US on September 23.
