Satellite starts filtering imagery in orbit: Supercomputing-1 sends only what matters
On September 20, Supercomputing-1 entered orbit alongside 8 other satellites. The spacecraft images Earth autonomously, identifies objects onboard, and sends only valuable results to Earth. The stated time from imaging to target information will shrink from several hours to minutes.
were downloaded to Earth in full and processed there. Now Supercomputing-1 is expected to filter out unnecessary data before transmission to find needed objects faster.
First flight. The satellite carries a 4-meter camera and an AI computer. In orbit, it will test whether data can be processed reliably in real time.
CAS Space expects to use the approach to monitor natural resources, agriculture, the environment, and emergency response.
