Previously, free Tidewave allowed 20 messages in the IDE, 10 Toolbar requests, and 10 agent connections per month. Once the limit was reached, the feature waited until the following month. Paid Toolbar costs $8 per user per month; IDE together with Toolbar costs $12.
Tidewave IDE brings together agents for browser-based coding, Git and PR workflows, code review, task boards, and design tools.
The agent sees the app. Installation for Rails starts with `bundle add tidewave --group development`. Rails MCP connects to the running app over streamable HTTP and gives the agent Ruby code, live logs, development-database queries, source-code search, and documentation for the exact versions of gem dependencies.
The open Tidewave MCP package works with most coding agents and editors without a Tidewave subscription.
