Starting Oct 1, Grok 4.7 is gradually rolling out to Grok's web and mobile apps. The model is becoming the default across all modes.
Now in chat too. On Sep 21, SpaceXAI released Grok 4.7 in Cursor, Grok Build and the API. Now users are getting it in the Grok app in these modes:
- Fast - Expert - Build - Heavy
Two different versions of Fast. The Fast mode in the Grok app and the Grok 4.7 Fast coding variant are different. The latter uses the same model but responds twice as fast on different infrastructure and is available only in Cursor and Grok Build. This variant is not included in Build's free plan or the public API.
Grok Build already uses Grok 4.7 by default for working on projects in the terminal. On macOS, Linux or WSL, installation starts with `curl -fsSL https://x.ai/cli/install.sh | bash`, then you run `grok` in the project folder. The first launch opens a browser to sign in.
Grok 4.7 is available on all Cursor plans.
