As of Oct 6, 2026, Gergely Orosz estimates that more PRs are created on GitHub each month with AI than manually.
The current monthly number of AI-generated PRs is roughly 3 times the number of human-written PRs per month in late 2023. Orosz uses December 2023 for comparison.
A PR is a request to merge proposed changes into a project.
