Better AI agent coordination delivers the same quality at a fraction of the cost: Cursor built SQLite from scratch
On Oct 9, Cursor compared old and new swarms of AI agents that built SQLite from scratch. Quality came out roughly the same, while the cost was a fraction of the previous one.

The main difference between the swarms is how well the agents coordinate their work with each other. That barely affected the result, while the spend was a small fraction of the previous budget.
So far this is a single measurement on one project, so it's too early to compare with other swarms.
