Xiaomi's night camera preserves color in the dark: the first in the lineup without black-and-white mode
Xiaomi's first camera with full-color night recording appeared in Chinese crowdfunding on 16 September 2026 for 429 yuan. The recommended retail price is 599 yuan. Smart Camera 5 Pro records in 4K with two 8 and 4 MP sensors, while a local 1,5 TOPS accelerator recognizes people and pets without external servers even with unstable internet.
Previously, most security cameras switched to infrared black-and-white mode. Xiaomi now preserves color in the dark: soft lighting stays on continuously, activates only on motion, or remains invisible in stealth mode. People and objects in recordings are easier to identify.
A home setup. The camera rotates 360° horizontally and 174° vertically, supports two-way voice communication and Wi-Fi 6. According to Xiaomi, data transmission is around 60% faster than in the previous generation. Recordings can be stored on microSD, in the cloud, or on home network storage, while privacy zones can be excluded from recording.
Xiaomi has not yet announced a release date outside China.
