Kimi K3 is now free in Cline Desktop: new users received tokens
17.09.2026 Cline opened free access to Kimi K3 in Cline Desktop and added tokens for new users. Cline Desktop is available in beta for macOS and Windows. Free models are available to Cline accounts under a limited promotional quota.

Previously, Cline Desktop required downloading the app, connecting a workspace, and choosing a model. Now the same flow provides free access to Kimi K3 through the ClinePass provider. Free models do not work through the Cline API.
In the IDE, you find free models in the provider settings. In the CLI, open `/settings`. Cline retains BYOK for other providers.
The free-model lineup changes over time, while Cline Desktop remains in beta.
