One Runway Balance Now Covers Two Products: Credits Work in the Web App and Runway Dev
On September 18, 2026, Runway announced a unified balance: purchased credits work in both the web app and Runway Dev. One Runway Dev credit costs $0.01, and the minimum top-up is $10. Subscriptions cost $15, $35, and $95 per month and include 625, 2250, and 9500 credits.

Previously, Runway kept web app credits and Runway Dev credits separate. Now a single purchase works in both places, so one pool can be spent on web generation and through the API.
Getting started. Runway Dev requires an account, organization, and API key from the API Keys section. In Codex, add the service with `codex mcp add runway-dev-mcp --url https://dev.runwayml.com/mcp`, then sign in with scopes `openid,profile,email,mcp:read,mcp:write`.
Credit usage. Gen-4.5 uses 12 credits per second, while Gen-4 Turbo and Act-Two use 5 each. That is $0.12 and $0.05 per second, respectively.
Annual subscription pricing drops to $12, $28, and $76. Additional purchases start at 1000 credits, purchased credits never expire, monthly Standard and Pro credits reset, and remaining Max credits roll over for one month.
