Google Photos builds a wardrobe from photos: Wardrobe launches on iOS and Android
On Sep 24, 2026, Wardrobe in Google Photos became available to eligible users on Android and iOS. The feature builds a virtual wardrobe from personal photos. Access is available in the US, India, and Brazil.
Earlier, Google planned a summer rollout of Wardrobe, first for Android and then for iOS. By Sep 24, the feature had appeared on both platforms in supported countries.
How to build it. In Google Photos, open Collections, Wardrobe, and Build my wardrobe. The service will scan photos from the past 4 years and send a notification when the wardrobe is ready.
Wardrobe requires an eligible Google Account, Face Groups enabled, and your own face selected. Android requires Android 10 or later, and without Google AI Pro or AI Ultra, more than 1,000 personal photos are needed.
Virtual try-on. You can add up to 6 items to one outfit, then open Collections, Wardrobe, Outfits, and Try it on. The result can be saved, sent, or generated again; outfits and try-ons take up Google storage space.
