Images sent to Meta AI in glasses can be excluded from training: contractors will not see them
On September 24, Meta said that smart glasses owners will be able to opt out of having images from Meta AI requests used for model training. After opting out, this data will not go to third-party contractors either.
In the Meta AI app, open Glasses → Device settings, select your glasses, and go to Glasses privacy. Meta uses an image for a request such as translating a menu only to provide an answer, then deletes it.
The opt-out boundary. Previously, Meta stored audio recordings and voice-request transcripts by default to improve its products. Now the opt-out applies only to images: voice requests may still be used for training and review, while recordings can be deleted manually.
The change applies to visual data from requests to Meta AI on glasses.
