Composer predictions in Codex: the agent suggests your next message, beta for Pro
Starting Oct 9, in beta, the agent suggests the next message itself, and the suggestion doesn't count against your limits. Press Tab to insert the text into the input box; you send it yourself.

Now in beta: composer predictions in Codex for Pro users. Codex can now suggest your next message based on the conversation and how you talk to it. One of the favorite new features we've ever tested internally.

In Codex, you had to type every next message from scratch. Now, after the agent replies, a suggestion can appear in the input field, built from your thread and from the way you talk to it.
You need the latest Codex desktop app and a personal ChatGPT Pro account, for users 18 and older in supported regions. Predictions work in local and SSH threads. Cloud threads are not supported.
Limits are not spent. During the beta, generating predictions does not use up Codex limits or credits. If you send an accepted prediction, it counts as a normal message under normal limits. The beta is for the Pro plan, which is priced at $100 or $200 as of Sep 26.
Cloud threads are not supported yet.
