Rabbit AI agent is no longer tied to a dedicated device: OS3 works without r1
On September 22, 2026, Rabbit opened OS3 to everyone: the AI agent runs in a browser without r1. OS3 is free, while the model is connected through the user's own API key. Apps for macOS and Windows are available.
Rabbit previously tried to replace mobile apps with the r1 device. Now the company has brought the agent to screens users already have.
Getting started without a gadget. The web version of OS3 asks users to sign in to a rabbit account, complete setup in a chat, and add an API key from a supported provider. The user pays that provider directly for model usage.
rabbit agent can be installed on a connected computer with a single command. Up to 5 devices can be added to one account, with work transferable between them.
OS3 already accepts compatible skills from other agent systems via URL.
