ChatGPT Ads expand for businesses: 7 more Asian markets
Starting Sep 23, 2026, OpenAI began gradually enabling ChatGPT Ads in seven markets: six Southeast Asian countries and Taiwan. The service footprint will exceed 60 countries, but access will be available only to companies that meet OpenAI’s requirements.

Previously, access was available only in markets where it had already launched. OpenAI is now adding Indonesia, Malaysia, the Philippines, Singapore, Thailand, Vietnam, and Taiwan to advertising in ChatGPT.
Ads will be shown to Free and Go users. Plus, Pro, and Enterprise will remain ad-free.
Access through the dashboard. Eligibility depends on the advertiser’s country of incorporation, not the country where the OpenAI account was registered. Ads Manager Beta requires a work email, logo, payment profile, payment method, and company verification. A campaign will start serving after payment setup, company verification, and account review.
Ads can be bought by impressions through CPM, clicks through CPC, or conversion-optimized campaigns. For CPC, OpenAI recommends starting with a maximum bid of $3–5 per click.
The daily budget is calculated as an average over seven days. On a single day, spend can reach double the limit. Campaign-total budget caps spend for the entire campaign duration.
Following the launch of ads in Brazil, Shopee is expanding its partnership with OpenAI to Southeast Asia and Taiwan.
After the February–April pilot, ChatGPT Ads remains in beta: OpenAI is expanding self-service, while the platform still has no performance benchmarks for industries and campaign types.
