Phone voice commands can delegate work: ChatGPT Work lands on iOS and Android
On September 23, ChatGPT Plus and Pro subscribers gained access to voice-initiated Work tasks on iOS and Android. The agent creates documents, presentations, and spreadsheets, and works with connected apps and the browser. Voice deducts minutes from the daily Voice limit, but the price of a Work task remains unchanged.
On July 9, OpenAI introduced it as an agent for long, multi-step tasks involving files and connected apps. Now, in ChatGPT, a task can begin by voice on a phone and continue in the web version or desktop app.
The path is short. In the app, users need to select Work, tap Voice, allow microphone access, and start a Live conversation. The user approves or rejects actions requiring on-screen confirmation; this cannot be done by voice.
A task started by voice on a phone syncs with the web version and desktop app.
