CI can run less often: Codex will select the right tests
On Sep 27, developer @steipete planned to let Codex choose the needed tests and move their runs to once an hour. As of Sep 27, Blacksmith offers 3,000 free minutes per month; after that, Ubuntu x64 costs from $0.004 per minute.

Agreed. @useblacksmith has been a great sponsor, but we need to spread the load. The plan is to have Codex decide which tests actually need to run, drastically cut CI, and run tests once an hour.
CI has become the top bottleneck of every engineering team I talk to (including Lindy). Our CI spend has become stratospheric.

CI has become the main bottleneck for teams @Altimor spoke with, including Lindy. Under the plan, Codex first selects the needed tests, while the full run moves to an hourly cadence.
Guardrails for the agent. OpenAI's Sep 27 documentation recommends recording in AGENTS.md that local tests use disposable data and have no access to production. Then Codex CLI can run the affected tests itself, fix failures after a change, and rerun verification without another prompt.
Under steipete's plan, tests will run once an hour.
