Claude Code and Codex could build an app, but compute, the database, and monitoring remained manual DevOps work. The `npx -y insta@latest agent setup` command installs a skill and MCP server, then the agent can create a project, add Postgres and a compute service, and deploy code via `insta deploy .`. Builds run remotely, so Docker is not needed locally.
**A branch instead of a staging environment.** Previously, test infrastructure had to be set up separately. `insta branch create feature-x` creates a copy of the environment along with its data. A project can have up to 10 such branches, while deleting services and changing capacity require confirmation.
