Stitch

Stitch is a rare case: a powerful tool with no paid plan at all. Two questions decide it - whether mockups with markup are enough instead of production code, and whether you are ready to change regions for access.

Who it is for. For those who need to quickly turn an idea into a detailed screen mockup: through text, voice, or a screenshot. There are no paid plans at all, and no card is required - only a Google account. The mockup has been copyable to Figma with a button from launch, and since 19.05.2026 an agent has driven the design: it streams work onto the canvas, with iterations guided as it goes.

Who it is not for. For those expecting a Figma replacement for team collaboration with a design system: Stitch is a path from idea to mockup and code, not a production environment. It does not produce production React components - use v0 for those. The product is experimental: Google Labs changes limits and features without notice, and Russia is not on Google's list of countries with access to AI services.

This was a relaunch, not a rename: the Galileo team joined Google, the product moved to Gemini models, and the subscription disappeared - Stitch became free. Google did not issue a separate press release about the deal; the acquisition is confirmed by a statement from Galileo's cofounder and an antitrust regulator's decision.

Over 15 months, the product went from generating individual screens to a design canvas with an agent: four major updates, the latest at Google I/O 2026.

Mockup from a description. A mobile app or web screen from text, voice, a screenshot, or a wireframe; several options per request, with iterations in chat.

Real-time agent. Since 19.05.2026, the agent streams work directly onto the canvas: you can guide an iteration without waiting for the result. Input can be text, voice, or an existing codebase.

Infinite canvas. Since 18.03.2026, the project lives on a canvas and the design agent tracks its evolution; you can critique the mockup by voice.

DESIGN.md. A portable natural-language design-system format: styling rules travel between projects and tools.

Prototypes. Since 10.12.2025, screens can be linked into interactive user flows instead of remaining static cards.

Export. Copy to Figma, export front-end code, export to Google Antigravity, publish through Netlify, share through AI Studio, MCP server, and SDK.

There is nothing to install: Stitch lives in the browser. The barrier is geographical, not payment-related - and it is bypassed by changing regions.

Step 1: change your Russian IP address to a foreign one - Armenian, Kazakhstani, or any other one from Google's list; nearby countries on the list include Armenia, Georgia, Kazakhstan, and Serbia. Russia is not on the list of countries where Google provides its AI services, so without this stitch.withgoogle.com simply will not open.

Step 2: check your Google account region. You need an account with a region other than "Russia": with a Russian region, some Google AI products do not open even with a foreign IP address. Age requirement: 18+; no bank card is required at all.

Do not confuse language and country. Russian is available in Google's help center - that refers to the interface language; Russia and Belarus are absent from the access list.

Free - and not a trial. Paid plans do not exist; Stitch is not included in any Google AI subscription. You only need a Google account and to be 18+.

Limits use daily credits. Google does not publish exact amounts and changes them without notice. As of summer 2026, reports indicate roughly 400 design credits and 15 redesign credits per day, resetting at midnight UTC - figures from secondary sources, not confirmed by the vendor.

This is a Google Labs experiment. The product has no uptime guarantees or help center; limits and features change without notice. For solo work this is background noise, but for team processes it is a risk: relying on an experimental service without guarantees.

There has already been a precedent. The Galileo subscription ceased to exist along with the service on 20.06.2025: users were offered the option to export mockups and chat history, and there is no public information on refunds. Keep exports handy - mockups copy to Figma and code can be exported.

Stitch has no competitors on price. For the task, it depends on what you need as output.

The typical 2026 scenario — a stack. Research and mockups in Stitch, refinement in Figma, components in v0. There is no direct Russian text-to-UI equivalent as of 19.08.2026; among nearby tools with payment in rubles, the closest is Tilda with Vibe Block — but it builds website blocks, not app mockups.
