Claude Code Projects opens to every Pro and Max user on the waitlist
Anthropic opened Claude Code Projects to all Pro and Max users from the waitlist on Oct 9. A project keeps related work going beyond one session: Claude runs each task in a separate cloud thread, while instructions, repositories and memory are set once. The limit is 200 new threads per day for the whole account.

Projects in Claude Code are coming soon for Pro and Max users! I like them, I use them. A project is needed when you have a stream of related tasks that lives longer than one session. Claude coordinates the work and runs each task in a parallel cloud thread, while you set instructions, repositories and memory once instead of repeating them. You can hand over a batch of tasks, walk away, and come back to the Overview tab: it shows which threads have finished, which PRs are ready and where your answer is needed. We just let in every Pro and Max user from the Claude Code Projects waitlist! If you're new to Claude Code Projects, here's a 4 minute walkthrough to get you started:

**Before, the work was stitched together by hand.** A long project task had to be split up: open sessions, pass the context along, then gather the results. Now the project stores instructions, repositories and memory once, and Claude Code runs each task in a separate cloud thread on its own repository branch.
The Overview tab groups threads by status: ready for review, waiting for your reply, in progress, queued to merge. You can see which PRs are ready to look at and where a reply is needed.
The limit eats into your plan. 200 new threads per day across all of the account's projects. Threads run on Opus with high effort by default and use up the plan faster; you can change this in Project settings, under General, before the first batch of tasks.
Projects are not available on Team and Enterprise yet. They are also missing from the terminal CLI, the VS Code extension and the JetBrains plugin, so you enter through claude.ai/code or the Code tab in the desktop app. Cloud threads need a GitHub repository and the Claude GitHub App.
The next milestone is Team and Enterprise, but the docs give no date for them.
