A production iOS build could crash on launch: Firebase Analytics sent invalid data
On Sep 28, Firebase Analytics for iOS caused 56 crashes for 56 users across four released builds in its first 18 minutes. A malformed payload from the server crashed apps at launch. Google fully deployed a server-side fix at 19:52 PDT; no SDK update was required.

Oh my God, the Firebase SDK started crashing EVERY iOS app that uses it, in EVERY session. Just like that. And those apps could do nothing about it… This is so amateurish for any SDK, especially for a company with engineering standards as high as Google's…
https://github.com/firebase/firebase-ios-sdk/issues/16728 incase anyone has been wondering why their iOS apps are intermittently crashing since today morning 🙃 reminds me of the Facebook swizzling crash incident. @Firebase pls help

These four apps had already been released. On Sep 28, they began crashing without a new release: in 42 of 42 reviewed crashes, the SDK first received HTTP 200, then failed while processing an experiment.
The fix arrived on its own. Google corrected the data on the server, so no new build was needed. Individual devices could still receive the old cached response for up to four hours.
Google expected automatic recovery after the cache expired by 23:52 PDT on Sep 28.
