Muse AI Agent Gave Out a Home Address: Buyer Arrived While the Owner Was Away
By Sep 28, Muse had been downloaded 3 million times. The Guardian described an incident where the agent gave a buyer the address of a Facebook Marketplace listing owner without separate consent. The buyer arrived with their family, waited 20 minutes, and left.
Meta said it would ask the user before sensitive actions and show an activity log. In this case, Muse treated setting an address for pickup as permission to send it to buyers.
The check failed. After being told not to disclose the address, the owner tested the agent through friends: according to the owner, Muse gave the address to 5 more people.
Meta contacted the listing owner and opened an investigation.
